The Product:
In 2019, we designed a fully responsive website for the new Amplifon Group Corporate website.
Project duration:
6 months (kick-off to launch).
Role and responsibilities:
I worked at the project as Product Owner and Experience Specialist. Main responsibilities involved developing the UX and UI design scope, coordinating the design system enrichment; writing user stories, responsible for agile ceremonies success; content creation and contribution process definition and roll-out.
Challenge and goals
The challenge:
The brief for this project was to design a future-proof touchpoint, able to convey institutional communication to investors and primary stakeholders. At the same time, we needed to focus on the editors experience, focusing on back-end CMS capabilities combined with different, cross-functional teams needs.
The goal:
Success for this website was related to stakeholders approval and National Institutional Webranking Improvement.
Understanding the user
Investors and journalists are the main archetypes for this website. Indeed, clear navigation paths, archives and dynamic updates were needed to ensure communication efficacy. Different users needs are reflected in the Information architecture and the main navigation, where we easily divide the Identity dimension from other, specific goal-oriented content needs.
Design phase
Regular design steps were taken into account, starting from navigation wireframes down to responsive UI definition for 5 different breakpoints. We started form the Amplifon Design System, aiming to enrich UX components for a better B2B communication. We followed the Atomic design approach, to leverage on existing components yet ensuring the right level of flexibility for content strategy and target-specific storytelling needs.
Noteworthy, on a design stand-point we faced an interesting challenge related to User Interface: yet conveying the same brand look&feel, we needed to decline the same brand assets in a more institutional tone of voice. We achieved this result by working on specific styleguide elements: typography weights and spaces, tertiary colours and CTAs.
AA WCAG Accessibility standards were ensured by design for all components; we relied to AAA standards for copy-content oriented components.
Delivery
We went live in 6 after the kick-off, able to enter the Top 10 Institutional Websites Ranking in Italy.
